Devizes Branch has the following pre-season events to which members, volunteers and friends are very welcome.

This year’s Dinner and Talk will be on Saturday 18th February at 7pm in the Wharf Tea Rooms. Alan Lank will be our speaker, on The Wilts and Berks Canal, past present and future. A sit-down meal will be provided. The cost will be £12.50 on the night, but seats are limited so book early by ringing Sharmain on 07828 028 537 or get her at

The honour of the branch is at stake, so do please join us on Saturday 11th March at 7pm, for our Annual skittles match against the MCC Branch of the Wilts and Berks Canal Trust. Once again we will be at the Conservative Club in Melksham. It’s great fun, free to take part, and no experience is needed, but everyone needs to bring a savoury first course contribution to the meal.
Please contact Sharmain at, or ring her on 07828 028 537 to confirm you’re coming or for more details. There is access to the club from the far end of the Church Street car park, SN12 6LS.

And finally
The Kenavon Venture team will spend the first few weeks of the New Year on winter maintenance and crew training. The first trip with passengers will be a 2½ hour Afternoon Tea Special on Mother’s Day, 26th March at 2pm. Do book well in advance. Here is the 2017 brochure which has details of this and all the boat trips planned for the coming season.
