Welcome to the Kennet & Avon Canal Trust. We’re the charity that saved the Kennet & Avon Canal which runs from Bristol to Reading. Now we work to Protect, Enhance and Promote Britain’s best waterway. Browse our site to find out about our boat trips, our steam engines, our events and our cafes. Lots to do along the very best 87 miles in southern England.

On 17th March the decision was made to suspend Trust activities as soon as practicable. This includes all boat operations, not opening Crofton as planned, closing the museum and cancelling all Trust meetings (other than online). We don’t know exactly how long this will need to last but we are assuming it will be at least until the end of April. We will review the situation again in late April. For more information please read this message from Trust President, Rob Dean – Coronavirus Update 17th March
During this time, Trust office staff will mostly be working from home. Please see our Contact Us page for a full list of email addresses.
Annual General Meeting
In light of the current coronavirus pandemic, and the likelihood that restrictions will continue well into the summer, we have decided that the AGM planned for 16 May should be postponed. A revised date will be publicised on this website in due course, and details will also be sent to members who have provided email contact details. If necessary, the rescheduled meeting may be held ‘virtually’, using video conferencing facilities.
