Crofton Beam Engines celebrates ‘Crofton for Kids’ Grant Project
During the past few months something a little different has been going on at Crofton Beam Engines. Children from four local primary schools, St Katharine’s C of E Primary School, Great Bedwyn C of E School, Burbage Primary School and Easton Royal Academy have partnered with us in our “Crofton for Kids” grant project to create four unique videos about Crofton for Kids.
There will be a premier screening of their films at the steaming weekend, with viewings scheduled for 11:00pm, 1:00pm and 3:00pm.In addition, the grant has funded the production of forty sets of buildable working models of the beam engine. The videos will be available in the future to visitors through the use of QR codes, taking advantage of the intranet installed around the site. The models will also be available for future groups to use to better understand how the station works.
The ‘New Stories, New Audiences’ Grant is sponsored by the Association of Independent Museums and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. For details of the New Stories New Audiences programme see https://aim-museums.co.uk/final-new-stories-new-audiences-grants-awarded/
